Building Momentum: A National Black 2SLGBTQI+ Organization

Black History Month is a moment to reflect and propel progress — it’s a chance to ignite progress and inspire meaningful action. At The Enchanté Network / Le réseau Enchanté , we are leading the charge to establish a National Black 2SLGBTQI+ Organization — a groundbreaking initiative that prioritizes leadership, fosters collaboration, and dismantles systemic barriers with urgency and purpose. This initiative is about creating lasting equity, amplifying diverse voices, and mobilizing resources to empower communities. It’s about providing a dedicated space where Black 2SLGBTQI+ individuals can shape policy, access meaningful opportunities, and build collective power.
The work ahead is bold, but together, we can forge a future where every voice is heard, every challenge is met with action, and every success paves the way for more. This is our moment to transform vision into reality — and we need you with us.
Black History Month Highlights
Health Equity and Empowerment: Where Black Futures Meet Action
The alignment of Black History Month and National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness in February creates a pivotal moment to confront systemic health disparities impacting Black 2SLGBTQI+ communities. This shared timing isn’t just symbolic—it’s a call to action. The Back to Our Roots report dives deep into these challenges, providing community-driven solutions that dismantle barriers to healthcare, reduce stigma, and center equity as a non-negotiable right.
This is a moment to act. Visibility matters because it saves lives. Equitable healthcare matters because it transforms futures. Dismantling stigma matters because it clears the path to lasting change. Together, we can ensure that these aren’t just ideals but everyday realities.
This February, let’s bolster the actionable strategies from the report. Advocate for inclusive policies. Support local initiatives. Start conversations in your circles. Your voice, your action, and your commitment can be the difference that drives progress.

One Year Later: Reflecting on the First National Black 2SLGBTQI+ Futures Summit

In March 2024, we gathered changemakers from across Canada for the inaugural National Black 2SLGBTQI+ Futures Summit. This historic event brought together voices from across the country, united by a shared vision of equity and empowerment for Black 2SLGBTQI+ communities.
One year later, we celebrate the summit’s legacy and the groundwork is laid for transformative progress. From inspiring grassroots initiatives to strengthening advocacy efforts, this summit was a pivotal moment in amplifying the voices and leadership of our communities. Relive the energy, collaboration, and vision by exploring moments captured during the event.
Why a National Black 2SLGBTQI+ Organization Matters
Black 2SLGBTQI+ communities across Canada are navigating systemic inequities that demand a unified, national response. The time has come to establish an organization that serves as both a beacon and a backbone — amplifying voices, advocating for policy changes, and creating tangible opportunities for equity.
This initiative isn’t just a vision; it’s a necessity. A national organization will ensure Black 2SLGBTQI+ individuals have the resources, support, and representation they deserve. By fostering connections across regions and building an infrastructure for collective empowerment, this organization will tackle barriers head-on and deliver lasting impact.
Hear directly from changemakers and advocates about why this mission is so critical and how you can join the fight for systemic change and community resilience.
The call for a national organization has never been louder or more urgent. Black 2SLGBTQI+ communities deserve a unified space that represents their needs, advocates for systemic change, and uplifts their voices.
Through this initiative, we aim to dismantle barriers, create meaningful opportunities, and foster a network of support that ensures no one is left behind. Hear directly from community leaders about why this organization is vital, the impact it can create, and how you can be part of this movement.
