The Enchanté Network
The 2020 Enchanté Summit Report captures the historic third and final gathering that formally established The Enchanté Network. Held in Regina, Saskatchewan, Summit 3.0 brought together 39 leaders from 25 organizations to ratify bylaws, elect the first national board, and adopt the Network’s vision, mission, and values—laying the foundation for Canada’s national 2SLGBTQI+ network.

The Summit 3.0 Summary Report (2020) documents a pivotal milestone in Canada’s 2SLGBTQI+ history: the official establishment of The Enchanté Network.
Held in Regina, Saskatchewan, from February 3–5, 2020, the event convened 39 delegates from 25 organizations across the country. Supported by Women and Gender Equality Canada (WAGE) and the Canadian LGBTQ2 Secretariat, the summit’s goal was to finalize governance, bylaws, and strategic direction for the new national network representing 2SLGBTQI+ and Two-Spirit organizations.

Founding Milestone
The third and final summit concluded the multi-year organizing process initiated at the 2018 and 2019 Centre Summits.
Delegates ratified the founding bylaws, adopted the Network’s vision, mission, and values, and officially incorporated The Enchanté Network.

Vision, Mission & Values Ratified
Vision: To support 2Spirit and LGBTQ+ communities from coast to coast to coast to be sustainable, vibrant, intersectional, indigenized, and culturally competent.
Mission: To maintain a thriving network where programs, resources, and knowledge are developed and shared to strengthen 2Spirit and LGBTQ+ communities.
Core Values: Consensus building, intergenerational inclusion, indigenization, adaptability, and equity.
Strategic Planning & Governance
Members created the first Strategic Plan (2020–2021) under the guiding principle of Reflective Inclusivity—centering community voices and equity in all structures and programming.
The summit also included sessions on anti-oppression, reconciliation, and decolonization led by Indigenous and queer facilitators.
Partnership with Fierté Canada Pride (FCP)
The newly elected Enchanté Network Board held a joint session with FCP to build alignment, avoid duplication, and foster collaboration between the two national bodies.
Legacy
This summit marks the official founding of The Enchanté Network as Canada’s first national network for 2SLGBTQI+ organizations—an achievement built on years of community visioning, collaboration, and collective care.
